Guys,

This is not a discussion/suggestion thread. I left it unlocked to allow the answering of any questions only.

If you have suggestions the best place to make them is the relevant forum.

Please note these are not new rules, they are longstanding rules that this thread is just reminding the player base of.

Answering Mireigi's question about the underdark. Yes, it applies there, as its for the DMs to decide when the boundary is crossed regarding violence and public order leading to NPC intervention. The same reasoning applies to rough and ready Roaringshore.

Consensual duelling in Sshamath, I will consult with the team on. I suspect these will not be allowed in the streets but might be in School of Mages

Two questions.

What about guild area's such as say candlekeep or inside the RH compound, are the guilds related to the area not able to say knock out the npc and throw them out if they refuse to leave, from an IG standpoint i can't speak for candlekeep but the RH has control over the compound grounds by the dukes.

Next is people breaking the law, e.g pick pocketing and so forth. are you just to let them run along, should my paladin be letting him run away or dragging him to the nearest npc on the map.

This has been the laws of the Chapterhouse and grounds for years now:

Quote:
The Laws of the Order's Chapter Stronghold

- The Chapter Grounds of the Order of the Radiant Heart has opened its gates to guests and those in need of sanctuary and protection from wrongful persecution. While inside the Chapter Grounds guests will be beholden and protected unto death by the Order under their sacred oaths and in turn trust that their good will and charity to those less fortunate will not be abused.

The Order maintains a watchful eye on any assassins or wrong doers who may enter the gates and will not hesitate to protect their grounds against such with whatever force is deemed necessary.

- The orphanage inside the walls is technically not owned by the Order and maintained by The Temple of Ilmater.

The Order maintains a fighting force of twenty two Men at Arms let by a Warden at Arms, to protect and secure its lands at all times and each (guard) or Man at Arms is subject to obey orders from each member of the Order.

- All non Order of the Radiant Heart personal (Those who do not belong to the Order) are at all times considered GUESTS and must leave all weapons and anything that may harm individuals inside the grounds at the gate with the Men at Arms.

The Clergy of Ilmater and those sworn to defend the orphanage are allowed to keep their weapons with them, but are subject to obey the orders of the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary, in times that the Chapter Grounds must be defended and at all other times.

- In the matter of the orphanage and its carers, The Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary are righteous crusaders of faith and thus not encouraged to mingle with the orphans and their carers, with their duty being to defend the land and more potently defend against the Undead menace in the fields.

- The Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary is charged with maintaining peace and law within their own self governed lands, given to them by the four Dukes of Baldur's Gate and thus are allowed to carry and brandish their weapons and armour on them at all times, whether it be for sword practice, smithy work to evict a guest etc.

- The Men at Arms charged with guarding the grounds must obey the orders given to them by the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary.

- If any guest staying or visiting the Chapter Grounds has an issue with the laws and doctrines of the Chapter and its personal, they may plead their case and/or debate in a civilised and respectful manner to the Order of the Radiant Heart Brothers and Sisters, to which the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary and Senior Knights of the Order will take steps to amend the situation if needed.

- (The Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary and its Chapter Grounds will offer no quarter to criminals and those on the run from the Flaming Fist Mercenary Brigade and the laws of the Dukes of Baldur's Gate inside their city state and dukedom.

- All lands within the Baldur's Gate City State and dukedom are subject to the laws of the four Dukes of Baldur's Gate, although the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary is sanctioned to police their Chapter Grounds by the Dukes, and maintains its own fighting force of Men at Arms, all criminals once expelled or slain (if the situation is dire enough) will be beholden to the law of the Flaming Fist Mercenary Brigade, the Dukes of Baldur's Gate and subject to the courts of the Temple of Tyr.

-The Flaming Fist Mercenary Brigade may overrule the Order of the Radiant Heart Auxiliary in the pursuit of criminals and enforcing the law of the land.)

- Any disobedience or defiance of these laws will result in the offending party being forcefully expelled from the Chapter Grounds.

So no pvp in patrolled areas aside from outside FAI without dm supervision? Did I get it right?

This is pretty much correct, except it's important to note that there are some parts of the FAI where this rule is in effect. Specifically inside the walls of the inn's compound, as well as directly outside the gate where the guards can obviously see you from across the bridge.

I think a good way to think of it is "if there is a guard NPC on your screen that could possibly see you, you are most likely godmodding said NPC if you engage another character in pvp." That being said this is just a guideline, and you're not going to be able to lawyer your way out of a rules infraction by arguing line of sight and angles of perspective and such.

Hope that clarifies!
